Data processed

When the user clicks DiffReady and starts a capture, the extension processes the active page's URL, title, metadata, visible text structure, viewport information and a screenshot of the visible browser viewport. These items are required to create a baseline and comparison report.

Storage and transmission

Baselines, screenshots, settings and the ten most recent reports are stored in Chrome's local extension storage on the user's device. DiffReady has no account system, analytics, advertising, tracking or developer backend.

Data leaves extension storage only when the user explicitly exports a standalone HTML report. That file is saved through the browser and remains under the user's control.

Permissions

• activeTab accesses the webpage only after the user invokes DiffReady.
• scripting reads the active page's metadata and visible text structure for comparison.
• storage saves baselines, settings and reports locally.
• sidePanel provides controls beside the webpage.
• unlimitedStorage retains user-selected screenshots and recent reports without failing at Chrome's small default storage quota.

DiffReady does not request persistent access to all websites, browsing history, cookies, credentials, personal communications, location or clipboard data.

Retention and deletion

DiffReady keeps one baseline per normalized page URL and up to ten recent reports. Users can delete a baseline or individual report inside the extension. Removing the extension deletes its local data according to Chrome's extension storage behavior.

No sale or secondary use

DiffReady does not sell data, use it for advertising, transfer it for unrelated purposes, or use it to determine creditworthiness.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

DiffReady's use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Website content is used only to provide the comparison features described to the user. It is not used for advertising, transferred for unrelated purposes, or made available for human review.

Children's privacy

DiffReady is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal information.

Material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
